History of Hanson & Tilton

Messrs. Adler M. Hanson and Fred Tilton founded Hanson & Tilton in 1936. They quickly established a reputation for excellence, ensuring a growing client base that now reaches the third generation. Through the years, satisfied clients have referred friends, family and colleagues, secure in the knowledge that their cars would be restored to pre-loss condition.

Our highly skilled technicians are capable of repairing virtually any foreign or domestic automobile. Keeping up with advances in automotive technology is a priority, so we ensure our repair specialists regularly attend training classes. We’ve added aluminum and electric-hybrid repair to our services so we are even more qualified to meet the unique repair challenges presented by many of today’s motor vehicles.

One of these unique repair challenges occurred in the early 1970s when we had the privilege of repairing James Bond’s Aston Martin. This iconic automobile, equipped with the undercarriage machine guns, retractable blades, and the infamous ejector seat attracted many spectators to the shop, but 007’s car is only one of the “movie cars” and celebrity vehicles we’ve had in the shop over the years.

We began to renovate our aging facility in 2002. Improvements to the shop included new halogen lighting, upgrades to the electrical system, energy-efficient windows, and new heated floors. The building’s exterior is now a light grey stucco, giving the building a more contemporary appearance. A planned future expansion will put an addition onto the building which will include a comfortable new customer waiting area. Several long-time customers have remarked that the building already looks much cleaner and brighter.
